PEDIATRIC SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST JOB DESCRIPTION:

Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologists at Spot On Therapy provide speech and language therapy services including evaluation, treatment planning, therapeutic interventions, and discharge planning. Depending on the clinician’s area(s) of expertise, this communication intervention may address receptive language, expressive language, speech/articulation, voice/resonance, fluency, social communication, play, feeding/swallowing, reading/literacy skills, and self emotional-regulation skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Complete focused and comprehensive evaluations related to the field of speech-language pathology.

- Implement recommendations from evaluations to create individualized treatment plans for clients.

- Provide direct therapeutic interventions to children to support receptive language, expressive language, speech/articulation, voice/resonance, fluency, social communication, play, feeding/swallowing, executive functioning development, reading/literacy skills, and self/emotional-regulation skills.

- Instruct and model treatment activities for parents/caregivers to ensure that children receive consistent carry-over of treatment outside of therapy sessions.

- Plan therapeutic programs and activities for home/community.

- Be responsible for accurate and timely discharge of clients based on client progress and in coordination with a client’s interdisciplinary team, when applicable.

- Maintains legal and accreditation compliance by developing policy concerning federal, state and local regulations and JACHO standards; anticipating emerging issues.

- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal and professional networks; and participating in professional organizations.

- Maintains patient confidence by keeping information confidential.

- Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Graduate from an accredited university Speech-Language Pathology/Communication Sciences program.

- Minimum Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology/Communication Sciences.

- Florida State License and ASHA certified (must hold CCC-SLP).

- Knowledge of various techniques and intervention strategies related to communication development in clients ages birth through 18 years old.

- Ability to work as a member of an interdisciplinary team of professionals.

- Ability to manage client records (training upon hire).

- Availability to see clients during traditional after-school hours (3:00-6:00 pm)
