Job description
Responsibilities:
- Prepare a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items for cooking in broilers, ovens, grills, fryers and a variety of other kitchen equipment.
- Prepare items for broiling, grilling, frying, sautéing or other cooking methods by portioning, battering, breading, seasoning and/or marinating.
- Follow proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes.
- Assume 100% responsibility for quality of products served.
- Comply consistently with the standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures.
- Stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service period.
- Portion food products prior to cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications.
- Uphold kitchen sanitation standards of safety, sanitation and food handling policies and procedures. Maintains a clean and sanitary workstation including tables, shelves, and equipment.
- Handle, store and rotate all products properly.
- Assist in food prep assignments.
- Close the kitchen properly and follow the closing checklist for kitchen stations. Assist others in closing the kitchen.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Chef or manager-on-duty.
This job requires ability to perform the following:
- Move safely and efficiently about the facilities.
- Carry or lift items weighing up to 80 pounds.
- Handle food, objects, products, and utensils.
- Bending, stooping, kneeling.
Qualifications:
· Previous experience in culinary arts, cooking or other related field.
· Passion for food and cooking techniques.
· Interest in teamwork and personal growth.
· Ability to read and following recipe and presentation guidelines
· Familiar with food safety standards.
· Must be able to stand/walk for 8 hours; bend, push, pull; lift 30 lbs.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour
