Technical Solutions, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, is currently seeking a Logistics Support candidate that has a configuration management background/knowledge gained normally from military experience with knowledge of the ship’s Organizational Maintenance Management System (OMMS) database. The selected candidate will be working with technical manuals and engineering drawings, to perform logistic technical evaluation of equipment and materials presented in these drawings and manuals in support of OMMS database. This position will be located in Oxnard, CA Port Hueneme.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Provides support to the logistics function preparing logistics documentation to establish the range and depth of spares, tools, test equipment and related manuals to be deployed and stocked. Determines maintenance and repair materials required for deployment. Modifies maintenance records such as repair standards for more complex equipment or components. Develops requisitions for and manages records of equipment, components, repair parts and related manuals; tracks logistics materials and parts for proper allocation of storage facilities; reviews configuration changes to evaluate impact on logistics deployment; documents equipment, component and parts conditions; and identifies logistic support documentation to be included such as drawings, technical manuals, and maintenance requirement cards to support life-cycle of product.
Specifically, this job will require you to:
- Review and create ICAPS packages
- Prepare APL and AEL updates
- Review NAVSUP Readiness Based Sparing (RBS) analysis.
- Provide data inputs to technical documentation and Illustrated Parts Lists.
- Perform provisioning data input supporting to engineering change proposals, and Deviations and Ship Change Documents.
- Provide Monthly status of provisioning for TSCEi, ICC equipment.
- Support review and development of Allowance Equipage lists (AELs) for tools and test equipment.
- Support review and development of Allowance Parts List / Allowance Equipage List (APL/AEL) Development.
- Input and maintain Provisioning Parts List (PPL) data within Integrated Computer Aided Provisioning System (ICAPS) Client Server (C/S) database.
- Verify that National Stock Numbers are authorized for procurement and/or active in accordance with Defense Logistics Agency Acquisition Advice Code (AAC) in WEBFLIS, or FEDLOG, and are consistence with APL/AEL data and the Illustrated Parts Breakdown IPB.
- Report any supply discrepancies and parts obsolescence issues to NSWC PHD.
- Support provisioning conference at the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) location in support of APL development effort.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years additional education and/or related experience.
Knowledge of Configuration Management systems.
Knowledge of Navy preventive maintenance system.
Knowledge of Technical Manuals and Engineering Drawings.
Be capable of providing shipboard logistic technical support.
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Clearance - Must have current DOD Secret.
Preferred Requirements
Previous configuration management experience
- 1-6 years of experience with provisioning or configuration management.
- Familiarity with and/or exposure to Integrated Computer Aided Provisioning System (ICAPS) client server.
- Familiarity with Provisioning Parts Lists (PPL), Allowance Parts Lists (APL), Allowance Equipage Lists (AEL).
- Knowledge of Total Ship Computing Environment Infrastructure (TSCEi) and Integrated Communication Controller (ICC) System.
Physical Requirements
Minimal mobility, dexterity, or coordination required to operate common business machines. Maximum lifting required is approximately 40 pounds from floor to three feet in height.
