Community Access Services in Oregon City, OR is calling all caring, empathetic, and hard-working caregiving professionals to apply to join our amazing nursing team as a full-time or part-time LPN / Licensed Practical Nurse to work in a unique group home with a fun and happy environment!

This group home location is a favorite among CAS employees! Our residents are so great they're impossible not to love and build great bonds with. We serve five young adults in our unique group home setting with two LPNs and two direct support professionals (DSPs) on shift at all times. WOW, this means there are four staff members available for five residents. This is a great opportunity for all, including candidates with a hospital background. We offer skills not taught at hospitals!

YOUR LIFE AS AN LPN / LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE

This full-time or part-time nursing and caregiving position in human services works a assigned schedule.

As an LPN / Licensed Practical Nurse, you play a vital role in our nonprofit organization. Without you, we would not be able to fulfill our purpose! You provide skilled nursing care for medically fragile individuals with developmental disabilities living in a residential setting. You assist individuals with disabilities to meet their personal needs, which include preparing meals, administering medications, assisting with hygiene, and lifting clients in and out of wheelchairs. Collaborating with the RN manager and residential site supervisor, you assist in providing emergency care when needed.

Each day, you check the patients' status and read the communication log. You review medical progress notes and other documentation to assess the daily needs of those we serve. You also carefully and accurately complete documentation of your own. Your warm and friendly demeanor makes it easy for you to provide excellent caregiving services and build relationships with residents, their families, visitors, and your colleagues.

As you encourage leisure activities and promote new experiences, you ensure that socialization needs are being met. You take pride in the difference you make in the lives of our residents and that makes you perfect for this flexible group home nursing position in human services!


WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU AS A LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE

  • LPN license in good standing in the state of Oregon
  • Knowledge about tube feeding, care of J & G tubes, nebulizer treatments, IV maintenance, and familiarity with various pumps
  • Reliable transportation
  • Desire to work with individuals with disabilities

Having current CPR / first aid certification and the ability to acquire IV certification within 3 months of hire is preferred. A valid driver's license and the willingness to become a company driver would be a plus.
