Responsibilities:
The Maintenance Cleaner will work Regular Full-Time Evenings.

This is a second shift from 3pm-11pm with a rotational weekend every 4 weeks.

  • The Maintenance Cleaner will perform various cleaning duties such as: wash, scrub, dry and wet mop floors in patient rooms and required areas (including behind/under bulk furniture items).
  • The Maintenance Cleaner will dust, wash, vacuum, polish and disinfect windows, mirrors, furniture and fixtures, tiles, walls and doors in residents and related areas as assigned.
  • The Maintenance Cleaner will, periodically or as needed, wash, or exchange the draw curtains and drapes in resident areas.
  • The Maintenance Cleaner will empty and disinfect wastes baskets and ashtrays; Replenish paper supplies; Straighten furniture in assigned areas.
  • The Maintenance Cleaner may periodically as needed strip beds, wash, and disinfect beds and furniture as instructed or scheduled.
  • The Maintenance Cleaner will clean isolation rooms, using isolation procedure techniques.
  • Keep janitor closets clean, supplies, and in order.
  • The Maintenance will assist in minor maintenance repairs, including evaluating situation and reporting to supervisor if maintenance needs to be called.
  • The Maintenance Cleaner will assist in all other duties deemed necessary by supervisor, scheduled hours are at the discretion of the supervisor.
  • The Maintenance Cleaner will attend all required in-services and follow department and facility policies including the use of personal protective equipment.
  • Maintain CONFIDENTIALITY of all pertinent resident care and employee information and follow HIPAA and HIV regulations.
Qualifications:
Bassett Healthcare Network follows the New York State and New York State Department of Health COVID-19 vaccine mandates for healthcare workers. This mandate requires COVID-19 vaccinations for personnel working for or on behalf of our hospitals and nursing homes. The New York State mandate allows for medical exemptions and religious accommodations, when appropriate. All candidates who accept an offer from Bassett Healthcare Network will be required to show proof of vaccination as required by New York State.


Education/Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
