JOB SUMMARY
The Maintenance Engineer II, under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, is responsible for the general maintenance of the physical buildings of the hospital and all machines, tools, appliances, and apparatus necessary to conduct the medical, support and related services of the hospital. Performs skilled and semi-skilled maintenance activities and related work.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience: Maintenance experience in a healthcare facility preferred.
- Education: High school diploma/GED. Graduate of an engineering trade school preferred.
- Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Experience with electrical, carpentry, plumbing and pipe fitting, ventilation, boiler and chiller maintenance and knowledge of DOH & WA State fire codes.
- Licenses/Registrations/Certifications: Current WA State driver’s license.
WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The work requires regular, recurring and prolonged physical exertion such as standing or walking for prolonged periods of time; frequent bending, reaching, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing, and stretching is necessary. The employee must exert 10-20 pounds of force constantly to move objects, frequently lift and/or move objects up to 40 pounds, and occasionally move/push objects up to 100 pounds.Requires frequent repetitive hand/wrist motions and finger manipulation. Requires normal/corrected vision and hearing to normal range. The work involves recurring exposure to moving mechanical parts, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather conditions; risk of electrical shock. Must be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions and available to form part of a call rotation.
