Job description
U.S. Facilities, Inc., a consolidated building maintenance services company, is seeking a Maintenance Laborer to work in a Correctional Facility environment, Philadelphia, PA location. This is a union position.
The laborer will be responsible to perform tasks, which require mainly physical abilities and effort, involving little or no specialized skill or prior work experience. The laborer is also responsible for the following tasks: loads and unloads trucks; moves supplies and materials to proper location by wheelbarrows or hand trucks; stacks materials for storage or binning; collects refuse and salvageable materials; Digs, fills, and tamps earth excavations; levels ground using pick, shovel, tamper, and rake; shovels snow; cleans culverts and ditches, cuts tree and brush; operates power lawnmowers; Moves and arranges heavy pieces of office furniture, equipment, and appliances; moves heavy pieces of machinery and equipment; Spreads sand and salt on icy roads and walkways; picks up leaves and trash
May be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth above to address business needs and changing business practices.
Job Requirements:
Education and Experience required: include the following:
- Basic literacy and the strength and dexterity required to perform heavy lifting tasks
- Must have HS diploma
- Must have minimum 3yrs work experience
- Must be qualified and knowledgeable in operation & installation of Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC and mechanical equipment
- Team player with a strong work ethic.
- Must have a history of safe work practices and training.
- Must possess basic computer skills
- Must be able to communicate effectively with Management, our customers, contractors and co-workers.
- Must have a willingness to learn new skills and assist co-workers.
- Valid Driver’s license
