We are recruiting for a Contract Specialist: HealthCare Administration to join our managed care team.

This is a remote position and will support our West Region and candidates will need to reside in Southern California.


Summary:


Works with the VP of Managed Care and Senior Directors of Managed Care to achieve the short- term and long-term goals of the department. The Contract Specialist will act as a key liaison to internal clients and external Managed Care Organizations building trusted relationships, with an emphasis on Revenue Cycle. This position will respond to internal and external queries directly and forwards others to appropriate staff when necessary. Will implement and work with many levels of leadership and staff at ScionHealth, supporting all managed care goals.


Primary Responsibilities:


  • Managed Care Subject Matter Expert (SME) for revenue cycle issue identification, root-cause analysis, and resolution.

  • Act as liaison between Managed Care and stakeholders (including but not limited to): internal clients, Payers, IPA’s , Medical Groups, and/or Management Service Organizations. Builds trusted relationships

  • Special Projects Coordinator: Including but not limited to, facility demographics and updates, facility closures/ divestures, facility, and service line expansion

  • Contract Management System Maintenance

  • Responsible for Contract Integrity to ensure payment accuracy

  • Manage Initial Contract request process in collaboration with the Senior Director of Managed Care

  • Communicate and track chargemaster notification and updates.

  • Intake contract request and obtain all necessary details needed for the SDMC to make initial contract evaluation

  • Manges Payer contract signature process both internally and externally

  • ARU Expansion: Under the Director of the SDMC can manage contract negotiations for Tier 3 & 4 contracts

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:


  • Self-motivated and results oriented
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with various colleagues to achieve defined market-specific goals
  • Strong aptitude to understand Revenue Cycle payment policies and push for resolution within confines of both internal/ external claims processes
  • Knowledge of Managed Care Terminology and reimbursement methodologies.
  • Ability to communicate in English effectively through verbal and written means
  • Comfortable working under pre-determined deadlines
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Ability to make presentations

Qualifications


Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field.

Experience:

Minimum of 4 years healthcare and provider service management experience

  • Revenue Cycle experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Post -Acute Industry preferred but not required
