OVERVIEW:
The Department of Administrative and Financial Services (DAFS) Office of Information Technology (MaineIT) provides information technology support to over 13,000 employees. MaineIT oversees large scale enterprise applications that support the critical and diverse business needs of the State of Maine and its agencies.

ABOUT THE JOB DETAILS:
This is professional services work involving the review, examination, and evaluation of organizational structures, administrative policies, and management systems in state departments, agencies, and institutions. Responsibilities include analyzing activities and work problems, summarizing findings, preparing reports, and recommending changes in organizational structures, programs, policies, procedures, or practices in administrative, financial, records, and information management systems. Work is performed under limited supervision.
Hybrid Work Opportunity – The employee in this position currently has the opportunity to work from home as much as 80% of the time.
REPRESENTATIVE TASKS:
- Conducts management reviews of unit organization, operations, information flow, integrated production methods, and inventory control in order to identify work problems, program deficiencies, and resource waste.
- Develops and recommends implementation of new systems, procedures, or organizational changes in order to improve unit/program efficiency and effectiveness.
- Installs new systems, confers with and trains agency staff, and conducts operational effectiveness reviews in order to ensure smooth system implementation and functioning.
- Develops and updates manuals in order to outline performance methods and organizational policies.
KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Knowledge of the organizational structure of state agencies.
- Knowledge of current developments in systems analysis and applications.
- Knowledge of the methods and techniques for establishing work standards.
- Knowledge of information management systems.
- Ability to analyze and interpret laws, rules, and regulations.
- Ability to develop recommendations for the revision or repeal of laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures; and the implementation of new systems or organizations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
(Entry level knowledges, skills, and/or abilities may be acquired through, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO the following coursework/training and/or experience).
Six (6) years of education, training, and/or experience analyzing, evaluating, and/or developing improvements to organizational and/or managerial systems, programs, and practices.

SALARY:
JOB CLASS CODE: 0932 POSITION: 035000174 PAY GRADE: 21 - ($41,038.40 - $55,224.00/yr.)*
