IAT Insurance Group has an immediate opening for a Manager of Data Engineering. This role will lead and work alongside data management development professionals to drive solutions by designing, building, deploying, and supporting decision-support data marts and associated data integration capabilities.
This role works a hybrid schedule from an IAT office in Raleigh, NC, or Kansas City, MO. Occasional travel is required. This role will be required one to work from the office Monday through Wednesday with the option of working Thursday and Friday remotely. Other office locations and remote will be considered.
The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience in a managerial role implementing decision support data marts for the P&C insurance industry. This role will collaborate closely with the Business Intelligence Information Delivery & Analytics team to build out user interface assets to meet the decision-making needs of the business and functional support areas across IAT.
Responsibilities:

Develops a deep understanding of current state data environment and the transition path to future state strategic architecture.
- Manages the development and support of the monthly Production cycle for monitoring rate execution across all IAT Underwriting segments.
- Manages the Reserve Review Data Modeling Life Cycle and timely update of the corresponding BI assets.
- Partners closely with IT, Actuarial and Finance stakeholders to ensure overall accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data.
- Serves as an escalation point for problem-solving and issue resolution.
- Manages staff performance, development needs and provides regular constructive feedback.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Must-Haves:
- Bachelors’ degree and at least five years of relevant experience or equivalent.
- The equivalent is considered nine or more years of progressive experience in planning and executing data integration projects on SQL Server platform.
- Core understanding of business intelligence/data warehousing technologies, methodologies, and techniques with proven experience delivering data driven BI solutions.
- Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills, capable of presenting complex issues in a clear, concise, and persuasive manner to the business and technical professionals.
- Demonstrated initiative, self-starter, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong work ethic and commitment to meeting deadlines.
- Prefer candidates who have P&C data or Workday financial data experience
- Prefer candidates who are willing to work with raw and server based data

The annual gross salary range associated with this posting is $86,000 – $137,000. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base salary for this position.
