Responsible for managing and coordinating assigned Surgical Strategic Sourcing and Procurement activities for the Global Surgical Business Units including, but not limited to the following:

Spend under Management (Spend visibility)

Spend under (signed) contracts, Cost Savings vs. Costbook

Quality compliance

Supplier implementation compliance

Recurring savings

Coordinate savings and risk mitigations projects with Surgical Procurement teams.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide Surgical Category leadership for all procurement activities, tasks, and initiatives initiated as the Category Lead.

Collaborate with leadership and stakeholders on effectively managing all assigned Surgical Category suppliers to ensure high level of performance and continuity of supply.

Responsible for delivering established cost savings targets through competitive bidding process and effective negotiation of supply and service agreements. Ensure complete contract compliance. Negotiate contracts and monitor performance against contractual commitments. Identify, Implement, and track cost savings projects in cooperation with the stakeholders and controllers.

Responsible for performing all aspects of procurement activities in support of major initiatives including stakeholder requirement analysis, identification of bidders list, RFP/RFQ development, conducting competitive bid events, supplier selection, negotiation, contracting, risk mitigation, supply continuity, and supplier performance.

Collaborate with internal customers to create thorough business requirements and incorporate in sourcing strategies and resulting agreements. Persuade internal clients to engage Procurement as a strategic versus tactical partner while communicating Procurement value. Maintain high level of communication with leadership.

Stay abreast of market and industry trends in order to benchmark and develop Procurement best practices. Make sourcing decisions considering total value to the Company including quality, service, technology, risk, compliance, and cost.

Partner with all surgical manufacturing sites to leverage sourcing and to benchmark best practices. Develop links with site procurement teams to find regional and global synergies and unlock supplier/product value. Develop strong and effective supplier relationships to drive quality improvement and cost reductions. Manages the relationship with key vendors and ensuring that vendor performance meets or exceeds company requirements through BRM approach.

Build leverage and develop regional/global strategies with key Global, Regional and local suppliers. Build and maintain global wide spend visibility.

Business Intelligence support in terms or market screening, benchmarking, and industry knowledge.

Represent category in all risk mitigations initiatives and develop business cases for second sources projects when required. Be aware and monitor any risks to supply of goods and guard the MOB.

Comply with Quality Policies for vendor evaluation, selection, and approval. Drive compliance of procurement processes for his category according to the Sourcing policy.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree with related experience required. MS/MBA/CPM/CPIM a plus.

Requirements:
Minimum of 7 years of experience in sourcing and procurement.

Extensive experience in a Manufacturing setting with direct material purchasing.

Strong Contracting background.

Demonstrated experience negotiating complex supply agreements and statements of work.

Must have proven track record of delivering cost reductions through effective sourcing and negotiation.

Procurement supervisory experience required.

Knowledge of negotiating and implementing service agreements and contracts.

Must be familiar with supplier performance metrics and key performance indicators.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively influence all levels of management.

Ability to develop procurement strategies for both direct and indirect categories.

Ability to think critically and multitask with sense of urgency.
