Job description
Clyde Industries is actively hiring for a Manual Lathe Operator to join our team! This is a great opportunity for someone with experience operating manual lathe machines within a manufacturing environment. In this role you will run a lathe to turn material to proper size. Cut various types of material on both manual and automatic saws. Maintain inventory levels at saw work center, maintain work center in orderly and safe manner.
This is a nonexempt position and the rate for the position would start at $19+/hour with the possibility of a higher starting rate based upon experience. This is in addition to the opportunity to earn a quarterly performance bonus. This position is full time with comprehensive health and wellness benefits. The hours for the position are 7:00am to 3:30pm Monday to Friday. Overtime and Saturday work may be required and mandatory based on business need. Responsibilities and Duties:
- Operate manual lathes, mills, drills and saws
- Performs own setups on manual lathes and mills
- Performs daily preventative maintenance on equipment.
- Work to close tolerances
Qualifications and Skills
- 2 years machine shop technical school or equivalent
- Prior experience running lathes and saws.
- Experience machining carbon and stainless steels
- Ability to read and understand drawings
- Ability to ensure machining operations performed meet standards and specifications
- Ability to use micrometers, calipers rules to measure work being performed and ensure dimensions are within tolerance
- Ability to use basic math including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division in fractions or decimals
- Perform daily maintenance
- Verifies quality of work and signs off on quality checklist
- Good mechanical skills
- Follow all safe work practices and policies

- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
