Position Summary
Parker in Mauston, WI is looking to add two Manufacturing Engineers to our team.
The Manufacturing Engineer will develop and evaluate new processes and improve current process capability, efficiency, and overall productivity in all areas of manufacturing on new and existing products in support of the Corporate WIN Strategy. Will also be responsible for designing of tools, fixtures, and gauges, and determination of process parameters to achieve desired production goals and quality standards.

Responsibilities
Scope/ Supervision and Interaction:
Must have ability to deal with people at a cross-functional level. Position requires ability to effectively communicate in oral and written form to present information and respond to inquiries from employees, customers, and suppliers.
Essential Functions:
- Evaluates moderately complex manufacturing processes by conducting process analysis, applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials, conferring with suppliers, and soliciting observations from operators/production technicians.
- Develops moderately complex manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; and conferring with equipment suppliers. Prepares written and graphical work instructions for the communication of manufacturing requirements to production personnel.
- Refines and enhances manufacturing processes by applying continuous improvement and key lean manufacturing/production principles and techniques to areas of production. Develops tooling and fixtures for products and processes and works with tooling vendors to supply such designs and equipment.
- Prepares documentation for new and enhanced manufacturing processes. May be assigned to special projects for a variety of products and processes.
- Identifies and implements solutions for issues relating to safety, quality, productivity, and cost reductions.
- Evaluates capital equipment investments and prepare cost justifications. Designs and prepares concept drawings of new equipment or modifications to existing equipment. May be asked to manage the overall implementations of capital equipment projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (BS) in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field. 2-5 years of related experience preferred. CNC programming knowledge preferred.
- Must possess strong mechanical aptitude, ability to use basic measuring tools, and hands-on capabilities to work on projects without supervision.
- Knowledge of manufacturing and production engineering principles, concepts, and general business operations.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals and policies and recommend changes to procedures.
- Ability to effectively apply Lean and continuous improvement methods to manufacturing functions (e.g. pull systems, process mapping, JIT).
- Ability to use standard business applications software and/or specialized data analysis tools. Ability to work effectively with CAD software (Inventor / EdgeCAM) for creating process drawings, designing tools, fixtures, and gauges.
- Ability to work on a variety of technical problems where analysis of the situation or data requires thorough identification of factors and analysis of impact.
- Ability to effectively listen, communicate, and present information to team members, team leaders, and management.
