Georgia-Pacific is now hiring a Manufacturing Supervisor to join our team at our Memphis, TN facility. The Manufacturing Supervisor role is a key leadership role that will provide direction to two Operations crews. This role will report to the Learning & Development Leader and work with the other Manufacturing Supervisor as a cohesive leadership team.

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Lead team towards excellence in Environmental, Health, and Safety and compliance by identifying and resolving hazards with critical and high risks
  • Foster and develop a team culture based on our Principle Based Management (PBM) philosophy
  • Mentor, coach, and train direct reports to execute daily area results impacted by people performance and capability
  • Drive technician execution of all asset strategies and processes
  • Execute all phases of performance management with all team members including annual performance review, quarterly performance conversations with individual development plans and Roles, Responsibilities, and Expectations (RRE’s) that are aligned with the mill’s goals
  • Identify and use measures (leading and lagging) that indicate how well the operating technicians are performing
  • Ensure decision making and actions are consistent with the collective bargaining agreement language and intent

The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements:

  • Experience leading or coaching team members on their performance and helping implement training systems/processes
  • Experience working in a manufacturing, industrial or military environment (E5 or above)
  • Experience troubleshooting, problem solving, and understanding of root cause analysis techniques

  • Experience providing developmental feedback to employees
  • Experience sharing personal point of view and holding difficult conversations
  • Experience utilizing business acumen in regard to labor costs, labor strategies, staffing, and training
  • Pulp and paper industry experience
