Overview:
The Marketing Assistant is responsible for coordinating a uniform marketing strategy, marketing content, and organizing special marketing events for the Goldbelt Tram. This position works with the Director of Sales & Service and/or the General Manager to create mutually agreed upon marketing content as well as a calendar of critical dates to deliver content and products.
This position is also responsible for the creation of external and internal communication products that may include but are not limited to newsletters, special reports, as well as the layout and graphic design of brochures, and on-board cruise ship media.
Responsibilities:
  • Maintain relations with customers by organizing and developing specific customer-relations programs for the Goldbelt Tram to create marketing material.
  • Design and implement comprehensive marketing strategies to create awareness of the company’s business activities.
  • Coordinate internal and external marketing efforts to support promotion of all programs and events in consultation with management.
  • Contribute to marketing effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues that must be addressed, providing information from research recommending options and courses of action.
  • Implement all approved marketing strategies
  • Provide all media (newspapers, cable TV, radio, websites, etc.) with notices of upcoming productions, newsworthy events, and advertising as approved by the General Manager or the Director of Sales & Service.
  • Build a marketing deadline calendar for product design, delivery, and implementation.
  • Conducts market research and develops marketing plans for specific products, services or business lines.
  • Write content for newsletters, social media updates, and special reports.
  • Responsible for producing valuable content for the company’s online presence, editorial design and organizing the company’s publications.
  • Work with Department managers on specific marketing needs.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all companies.
  • Assist with special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
NECESSARY SKI LL S AND KNOWLEDGE
  • Ability to meet time and attendance requirements.
  • Ability to provide outstanding customer service both internally and externally.
  • Must possess excellent professional telephone skills.
  • Computer literacy is required including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with graphic design and publishing software.
  • Knowledge and understanding of audio and video preferred, but not required.
  • Knowledge of website construction software preferred, but not required.
  • Knowledge of filing and record keeping, maintaining all products.
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and work with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow oral and written instructions, procedures, and guidelines with the capability to apply them to various situations.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion, tact, good judgment, maturity, timeliness, and accuracy with limited supervision.
  • Must be able to work well under pressure while being detail oriented.
  • Must be able to ride up and down on the tram cars.
  • Must possess analytical and creating thinking abilities.
  • Must possess knowledge of current and online marketing techniques and best practices.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations, such as dealing with all types of customers and meeting strict deadlines.
  • Ability to pay attention to detail.
  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must possess excellent time management skills.
  • Must possess excellent organizational skills.

MINIM
U M Q U A L IFI C A T IONS (ed u catio n and e x pe r ie n ce)
  • At least 1 (1) year of experience with marketing development AND
  • A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record; AND
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check, OR
  • Any equivalent combination of experience, training, and/or education.
