Middle School Assistant
Job description
Poly Prep seeks applicants for the position of Middle School Assistant. The Middle School Assistant plays a vital role in Poly Prep’s Middle School division by facilitating positive student behavior and engagement while supervising and supporting groups of students during their learning and daily activities.
Dates/Hours of Position:

September 6, 2022 through June 15, 2023

11:00 AM - 2:00 PM, Monday through Friday (when classes are in session)
Rate of pay: $15-$22/hour
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

Supervise assigned group(s) of students throughout the day including during lunch, study hall, recess, and silent reading periods

Support students with technology needs

Attend to students’ social and emotional needs as they arise

Communicate professionally with all members of the community

Oversee the clean-up of lunch room space

Monitor recess for behavior and safety

Monitor student restroom requests to avoid crowding in school facilities

Observe students for health concerns and referring students in need to the health team

Collaborate with other Middle School Assistants as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High school diploma and at least 2 years of college enrollment preferred.
Experience: Demonstrated interest and experience in working with children.
Specific Skills: Facility with digital technology (Gmail, Google Drive, Zoom) and a capacity for learning more; flexibility and willingness to adapt.
Requirement: All employees must be fully vaccinated and show proof of their full COVID 19 vaccination and booster (if eligible).
