Job description
We are looking for a Design Engineer to join our team in Smithfield, RI.
You will collaborate with Designers/Architects, Account Executives, and Project Managers to produce detailed construction drawings for our in-house fabrication groups. You will also be responsible for creating drawings and specifications to share with our project partners – architects, owners, contractors, vendors, and more.
A minimum of 1-3 years working with (CAD) software detailing at least one of the following is preferred: commercial millwork, casework, decorative metals, temporary exhibits, custom lighting, and/or stone fabrication processes
Responsibilities:
  • Coordinating with Designers, Architects, General Contractors and Project Managers to produce detailed construction documents per the specifications required by the project.
  • Calculating dimensions per the individual project site.
  • Prepare / review rough sketches of construction methods and review them with the Production and Project Management team.
  • Create technical diagrams for installation processes and final operational uses.
Requirements:
  • Proven work experience as a Design Engineer, or similar role.
  • 1-3 years experience with computer-aided design software (CAD) preferably 3D AutoCad 2021 or newer.
  • Excellent ability to read architectural drawings and specification packages.
  • Proficient in 3D AutoCad or similar 3D modeling software.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Able to commute to Smithfield RI.
