Job Overview



The Mobile Receiving Captain is an elevated hourly colleague who oversees the Mobile Receiving Colleagues and is responsible for driving a great shopping experience for our in-store and omni channel customer through completing all functions related to the receipt and processing of merchandise entering and leaving the building as well as the upkeep of merchandise and stockrooms in the assigned market area. Oversight and completion of duties include but are not limited to receiving activities, packing and shipping, fulfillment picking, and other duties as assigned. You will be responsible for prioritizing the customer experience through active supervision and enhancing the service culture. You will have a key role in communicating expectations and priorities to the Mobile Receiving Colleagues. This position has potential to lead to Sales and Customer Experience Manager, Omni Operations or Merchandising Manager.




Essential Functions



  • Supervise and assist with managing workload as required by People Leader
  • Provide feedback and contribute observations via PL. Role model ability to build lasting customer relationships
  • Help build a proactive and solution-oriented customer centric culture in area of responsibility to ensure consistent customer experiences
  • Meet with People Leader daily to discuss total store activities in market area to monitor and focus for the day. Perform all applicable sales and/or support duties in addition to the above
  • Alert Sales and Customer Experience Manager, Omni Operations and/or Merchandising Managers of any opportunities that are not aligned with goals
  • Oversee colleague execution and completion of daily Receiving and Fulfillment responsibilities in each market location
  • Have practical knowledge of store systems ― POS, MPOS, RF equipment, MyClient, MyStore App ― and ability to educate others
  • Unpack merchandise from vendor boxes and remove merchandise from plastic bags and packaging
  • Hang or fold merchandise and place on racks to be taken to the selling floor
  • Complete all processing, receiving and fulfillment activities in accordance with productivity standards timelines
  • During peak times or as workload requires, complete fulfillment orders including picking merchandise, packing & shipping orders, and making in store pickup orders ready for customers
  • Enforce packing policies & techniques to ensure customers receives their packages in good condition
  • Process shippable returns and abandoned in store pickup order
  • During peak times or as workload requires, conduct customer pick-up including retrieving the orders from our back-of-house storage and delivering them curbside to the customer
  • Monitor alerts to ensure Ready On Time completion of Buy Online Pickup In-Store (BOPS) orders
  • Pick Not Found merchandise to improve fill rate as business needs require
  • Expedite aged orders to improve the Speed-to Ship to our customers. Provide an exceptional customer experience by ensuring the customer is always the priority
  • Participate in stockroom maintenance, organization, and housekeeping
  • Assist in replenishment of stock onto the sales floor
  • Assist in inventory process and markdown process as workload allows
  • Assist the Merchandise Team in the movement of fixtures and merchandise for new product, season changes, and clearance set
  • Complete all essential functions in assigned market area stores
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality



Competencies



  • High School or GED
  • 1-2 years direct experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to communicate and share information with diverse groups of customers and peers
  • Ability to effectively execute strategies
  • Resourceful and able to adapt quickly to changing priorities
  • Resourceful self-starter, works well independently as well as part of a team, and able to adapt quickly to changing priorities
  • Access to a reliable transportation method
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs, including days, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays at varying locations in the market.



Physical Requirements



  • Regularly required to talk, hear, sit, use hands to finger, handle, and feel, reach with hands and arms, stand and walk for prolonged periods of time
  • May involve crouching, kneeling, stooping, close vision, color vision, and climbing ladders
  • Frequent use of computers and other technology, necessary to perform job functions, including handheld equipment, cash register and ability to process register transactions
  • Frequently required to lift/move up to 50lbs
