Job description
We're a local independent motorcycle shop with a reputation for high quality, honest work. The shop is fast paced with more than steady work to keep you busy. We're growing and looking to bring in a quality motorcycle technician on board to help with the high-demand work load.
No impossible flat rate to try and rush the job. This is an hourly position.
MUST have shop experience, independent or dealership. We have many service manuals and specialty tools to perform ANY task needed for every unit. There isn't any job we turn down.
Tasks for Motorcycle Technician:
- Repair and adjust motorcycle sub-assemblies, such as forks, transmissions, brakes, and drive chains, according to specifications.
- Replaces defective parts, using hand tools, arbor presses, flexible power presses, or power tools.
- Connects test panels to engines and measure generator output, ignition timing, and other engine performance indicators.
- Listens to engines, examines vehicle frames, or confers with customers to determine the nature and extent of malfunction or damage.
- Reassembles and tests sub-assembly units.
- Dismantles engines and repairs or replaces defective parts, such as magnetos, carburetors, and generators.
- Removes cylinder heads and grind valves to scrape off carbon and replace defective valves, pistons, cylinders, and rings, using hand and power tools.
- Repairs or replaces other parts, such as headlights, horns, handlebar controls, gasoline and oil tanks, starters, and mufflers.
- Disassembles sub-assembly units and examine the condition, movement, or alignment of parts, visually or using gauges.
- Remove and replace tire and inner tubes, wheel bearings, brakes, etc.
Qualifications:
- Must have your own basic tools (SAE and Metric)
- License: Motorcycle endorsement (Preferred) or some ridding experience
Other Info:
- Established, a busy motorcycle dealership in Peoria County is looking for qualified motorcycle service technicians.
- Must be a quality tech interested in turning out the best work possible.
- The work schedule is Monday through Friday some Saturday, 40 hours a week MORE IF YOU LIKE.
