About us
School of Rock instructs guitar, bass, vocals, keyboards, drums and combines weekly private music instruction and group band rehearsals to prepare students to take the stage in front of live audiences in an authentic concert setting. The hours of operation, as planned, would be Monday through Friday 3-9, and Saturday, 9-3.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Instruct students the fundamentals of music
- Create and document thoughtful lesson plans
- Communicate regularly with parents on progress of students after lessons
- Interact with parents and students regularly by being visible and accessible in the school
- Help with lessons when other teachers can’t make it
- Responsible for the overall execution of the School of Rock program from rehearsals and concerts to the music lessons provided at the school
Skill Requirements:
- 3 + years’ experience teaching and/or performing music professionally
- Knowledge of music theory and curriculum design
- Excellent ability to deal well with a wide range of customers and other people
- Strong organizational skills
- Very strong customer relations skills
- Resourceful and good problem-solver
- Ideal candidate is a former working musician who also has formal music school training
- Ability to teach multiple instruments a plus
- Enthusiastic, flexible, patient, and positive demeanor
