Nondestructive Testing Technician
Job description
Position Summary: The Level II Technician will be performing calibrations, Nondestructive Tests, and evaluations for acceptance or rejection determinations according to written instructions and record results. Level II Technicians are qualified to set up and calibrate equipment and to interpret and evaluate results with respect to applicable codes, standards, and specifications. Level II Technicians are thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of the method of NDT being used and should exercise assigned responsibility for on-the-job training and guidance of NDT Trainees. Level II Technicians organize and report results of NDT.
Essential Duties (include but not limited to):
· Perform RT, MT, PT, and VT inspections to ASME, AWS and API 1104 standards.
· Evaluate and interpret results per code of construction and/or customer requirements.
· Provide a high level of service to all internal and external customers.
· Records inspection reports, issue rejection documentation and maintain records, data, logs, etc.
· Prepare inspection/examination reports in a timely and accurate manner.
· Set up and maintain NDT equipment in accordance with federal/state/local requirements.
· Maintain clean and safe work environment. Follows safety and environmental procedures and regulations. Reports safety incidents to supervisor.
Other Duties:
· Provide support to mechanical and welding department.
· Responsible in overseeing and instructing trainees while in training for certification as delegated by Nondestructive Testing Manager.
· Participate in training/learning other positions.
· Makes recommendations for improvements to work processes.
· Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; Looks for ways to improve and promote. quality; Able to approach/evaluate a problem from many angles.
· Perform other duties as required.
Requirements:
· High school diploma or equivalent
· ASNT Level II
· Knowledge of ASME BPVC Section I, VIII, IX, B31.1 and B31.3
· Knowledge of relevant API and AWS Codes.
· Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite products.
· Pass an annual eye exam.
· Agree to pre-employment and random drug alcohol testing.
· Agree to criminal background check.
· Physical ability to walk/climb through pipe and lift 50lbs.
Beneficial Attributes:

· CWI.
· Ability to administer PQR’s and write WPS’s.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
