JOB SUMMARY:
The Nurse Manager is responsible for the leadership and daily management of the Clinical Department. (S)he will participate in the development, implementation, administration, and assessment of clinical programs, projects, and procedures. (S)he will be involved in ongoing and active collaboration with the Medical Director, Senior Clinical Operations Director, Practice Manager, Behavioral Health Manager, clinical, and quality staff to help achieve the Triple Aim of increasing patient satisfaction, improving quality of patient-centered care, and reducing the cost of care. (S)he will work directly with Clinicians, Nurses, and Medical Assistants to ensure the day-to-day activities of the clinics are maintained. (S)he will work closely with clinical staff to help provide efficient department operations and to help enhance the quality of patient-centered care.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the overall operational accountability of the Clinical Department
- Supervise, train, and evaluate staff in the Clinical Department
- Create monthly nursing and MA clinical schedules
- Coordinate staff coverage, including callouts and vacation coverage
- Responsible for directing, organizing, and supervising the daily work of clinical staff, including Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified or Registered Medical Assistants (CMAs, RMAs), and Licensed Nursing Assistants (LNAs)
- Direct reports include Nursing Coordinator, Clinical Nurses, Clinical Lead MAs
- Indirect reports include LNAs, CMAs, RMAs
- Involves working at the Franklin and Laconia locations, with the probability of site expansion
- Facilitate the monthly Nurse, MA Meeting and the monthly Clinical Team Meeting
- Ensures completion of annual lab competencies of Nurses and Medical Assistants
- Coordinates nursing efforts to ensure that effective and efficient patient care is being provided and evidence-based practices and nursing standards are adhered to
- Provide feedback, mentoring, leadership, and guidance to all clinical staff
- In conjunction with the Senior Clinical Operations Director, Practice Manager, Behavioral Health Manager, and Medical Director, develop strategies and best practices for quality improvement in support of strategic goals, clinical operations, and clinical programs
- Facilitate the implementation of new clinical programs and procedures resulting from grants and/or changes to federal and state requirements
- Oversee the development and maintenance of written policies and procedures to guide daily operations of the Clinical Department to maintain efficient patient flow
- Research and implement clinical processes involving third parties as fiscally appropriate
- Facilitate the creation and maintenance of care management systems to identify and track patients requiring chronic disease care management and high utilizers of healthcare systems
- Help coordinate education programs and training for the professional development of staff
- Oversee chronic care management with TimeDoc and its ongoing implementation, performance, and development to ensure its sustainability and financial management
- Work with the Senior Clinical Operations Director and Medical Director in support of clinical quality improvement initiatives related to clinical indicators, productivity, patient satisfaction, and customer service based on data trends and identified opportunities
- Engage in Provider relations to help influence and impact clinical quality measures and drive improvement with metric performance
- Participate on the Life Safety and Risk Management Committee, help implement and manage programs, platforms, and trainings based on committee recommendations
- Research and implement evidence-based practices in collaboration with clinical and quality staff
- Ensures licensed clinical staff, RN, LPN, LNA, CMA, RMA work within their scope of practice
- Participate in the development and evaluation of department budgets to ensure fiscal responsibility of supervised programs and departments
- Other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:
- Knowledge and understanding of budgets
- Familiar with federal and state regulations and compliance
- State of NH Nurse Practice Act and Nursing Process

- Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills
- Project management
- Strong computer software skills
- Experience in primary care, ambulatory, or FQHC healthcare setting
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
EDUCATION, LICENSES and CERTIFICATIONS:
- Current, unrestricted New Hampshire Registered Nursing (RN) license
- Bachelors of Nursing required
- 4+ years supervisory experience
- Maintain licensure for nursing status through ongoing professional education and professional development
- BLS certification, current or ability to renew before employment begins
