UU Catskills Office Administrator (10 hours/week)
1. Manage weekly and monthly online newsletters to the congregation, comprising:
~ Internal communications with the congregation and guests via Mailchimp, including the Weekly Update (Tuesdays) and monthly Newsletter (first of the month) and occasional special updates from the Board or Minister.
~ Communication with Committee chairs to request content for Weekly Updates and the monthly Newsletter, including communicating guidelines for submissions, due dates, etc.
~ Drafting the Weekly Update and the monthly Newsletter using our Mailchimp template. Edit content as necessary and appropriate.
~ Providing a draft copy of the weekly update on Monday morning in advance of Tuesday morning publication to a select group of reviewers.
~ Providing a draft copy of the monthly newsletter two days before the end of the month to a select group of reviewers.
2. Update the facilities and events calendars, both in-house and on the website (uucatsklls.org/events), in conjunction with the Weekly Update and monthly Newsletter.
3. Update and manage in-house and online (Mailchimp) membership and mailing lists, adding new names at the request of the Membership Committee or Board. Provide occasional reporting on Mailchimp analytics to guide decision-making about future campaigns and content.
4. Answer and respond to office voicemail daily during the week.
5. Answer and respond to office emails daily, including forwarding emails to the appropriate individual(s) when the response requires outside input.
6. Meet with the Minister and a member of the Board (on-site or via Zoom) twice monthly regarding ongoing events and concerns or when otherwise necessary. Currently the minister is on-site on Thursdays.
7. Update UUA membership and mailing lists (no more than twice yearly).
8. Keep track of hours to provide the BOT with analytics regarding how much time is required for the different aspects of the job. This position is in flux as we move more of our communications online, including upgrading our social media coverage and content.
Key Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong computer skills including experience with Mailchimp, Canva and overall strong PC skills including Microsoft Office.
Pay is $20-$25 per hour, based on experience. This is a contract position, paid every two weeks. This means no taxes will be deducted, and you are responsible for paying your own taxes.
