Currently, we have an opening in our Aquatics department for an On Deck Lead.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Ensure safety of members including Aquatics safety rules
• Create solutions for frequent questions/needs/problems, such as but not limited to:

  • Connecting members to their scheduled instructors as they walk into the Aquatic Center

  • Trouble shooting schedule issues – quickly determining scheduled group and private lessons via schedule rosters or CSI and lifeguarding rotations/coverage

  • Anticipating cast member needs – equipment needs, assistance with troubled child or class, double guarding or adding breaks to scheduled cast

  • Constant attention to Show Ready Standard in all pools

  • Arriving before primetime to clarify coverage for the day and pre-emptively establish schedule constraints and solutions ahead of time

• Responsible for guarding, helping find guard coverage, or teaching group and private swim lessons to children and adults when scheduled instructor or lifeguard is not available and another suitable alternate is not available.
• Prepare class environment daily (lesson plans, equipment, teaching aids, general safety, hip packs, radios, etc.)

• Ensures Instructors and Lifeguards are effective in enforcing safety, department, and club policies

• Communicate important dates and happenings to members, i.e. enrollment, report cards, pool closures, pool schedules

• Ability to address coworkers who are not fulfilling their work obligations as assigned

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

• Leadership skills – you can motivate a team, are knowledgeable, and have passion for your job, demonstrating your ability to flex between managing and jumping in to tasks, as duties require.
• You pay attention to the details and love being busy, proactively looking for ways to help cast and provide an amazing experience for our guests.
• Able to multi-task and prioritize duties while maintaining a professional demeanor with members, cast members, and management.
• Thinking on your feet, you handle challenges like a PRO with a strong sense of urgency for resolution and improvement.
• Your positive, “let’s get it done” attitude shines through and you consistently demonstrate a strong oral and written communication skills with all guests and cast members in a courteous, friendly and professional manner.

• 2+ years of pool experience
• Lifeguarding
• Current CPR Certification required (American Red Cross)
• Current First Aid (American Red Cross)

Compensation: Hourly Rate $22-24 depending on experience

Schedule: Mon-Fri 3-8pm Sat/Sun 8:30-4pm Full Time
