We are seeking a Polymer Operations Excellence Leader who will be responsible for the direct supervision of 4 employees in our Essential Materials area and support our Polymer operation, leading improvements in safety, productivity, and reliability. In this role, you will work a day-based work schedule, but have 24/7/365 responsibilities, so should assume that some night and/or weekend work will be required when necessary. As the ideal candidate, you will demonstrate a
“Business Owner Mentality” in all aspects of the role.

Reporting to the Spandex Operations Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
Job Responsibilities & Summary:
- Identify and report environmental, health and safety incidents, concerns and near misses. Lead investigations seeking best knowledge to prevent recurrence. Hold employees accountable for maintaining 100% compliance with safety procedures and practices.
- Partner with the Polymer Operations Group Leader, cross-training to the point where both roles mutually benefit from the cross-functional knowledge and become a Subject Matter Expert in Polymer and Essential Materials
- Ensure raw materials are received and unloaded in a timely and safe manner.
- Become a Subject Matter Expert in the area for transformative programs that drive continuous improvement.
- Continually assess, track, and communicate employee performance. Administer performance reviews and corrective action, working with the Operations Manager and HR when necessary. Provide incentives to foster operational excellence and recognize superior performance.
- Develop and maintain meaningful area performance metrics and drive improvements.
- Drive a culture that creates long term business value through innovation, creativity, and challenging the status quo.
- Assist in managing area projects.
- Lead area training and be a mentor and coach to new employees.
- Troubleshoot equipment such as pumps, valves, heat exchangers and automatically controlled equipment.
- Uphold quality standards and ensure compliance of critical quality systems.
- Provide relief for other area supervisors, as needed.
- Manage area cost and raw material inventories in a way that optimizes working capital.
- Implement global best practices.
- Work with R&D in the production of new products.
- Facilitate Management of Change (MOC’s).
Qualifications (Required)
- 2 years’ experience managing in a manufacturing environment, OR
- Experience working with polymers.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
Qualifications (Preferred)
- 2 or 4-year technical degree in a related field.
- Familiarity with OSHA safe work requirements.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Technical skills to troubleshoot complex processes and equipment.
