Operations Manager - York, PA
The Blueprint (Role Profile)
We are looking for an Operations Manager to oversee our manufacturing team at our facility in York, PA. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring the daily success of our operations department through effective daily management of human capital, technical expertise, materials, and machinery.
The Operations Manager will oversee the daily operations of the factory, ensuring operational excellence, to include a commitment to Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost. He or she will act as a liaison between the Plant Manager and Production Supervisors.
The Operations Manager will be a direct report to the Plant Manager and will serve on the plant leadership team, where he or she will work with other functional leaders to ensure alignment on daily focus and the status of key projects. All Production Supervisors will report directly to the Operations Manager.

The Build (Responsibilities)
- Collaborate with plant leadership team to understand business needs and customer commitments to ensure daily focus on appropriate internal and external orders.
- Collaborate with the Plant Manager to maintain department budgets and provide recommendations on capital expenditures and labor.
- Manage daily cadence and meetings within department to communicate performance in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost; identify countermeasures for performance concerns through RCCM.
- Consult Operations Excellence and Engineering counterparts to identify and execute on continuous improvement opportunities and projects aimed to improve department performance.
- Drive a continuous improvement mindset throughout the organization, starting with Production Supervisors and working down into the organization.
- Review and manage expenditure of supplies, materials, tooling, and other areas to ensure investments are being used effectively.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to Production Supervisors and Team Leads to ensure all policies and procedures are followed, and to maintain positive employee relations within the department.

The Toolbox (Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or related field; or an equivalent amount of educational and related work experience in a production environment.
- 5+ years’ related work experience in a machining and assembly environment is preferred.
- Track record of achieving growth and profitability targets including the reduction of direct/indirect costs while increasing operational efficiency, productivity, and quality.
- A working knowledge of ERP systems is required; SAP experience is preferred.
- Ability to delegate and lead others in delivering financial and customer commitments.
- Act as a culture change agent, while ensuring buy-in from production associates.
- Knowledge and understanding of lean methodologies and practices.
