A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN OPERATIONS MANAGER

As a production management professional, you play a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of our food production company. By working with the Director of Operations, you oversee the manufacturing, scheduling, and warehousing while coordinating day-to-day activities. You display strong leadership by cultivating an engaged team and abiding by the "right the first time" method during all aspects of production. Through employee engagement, you ensure that there is continuous improvement in your team by conducting performance evaluations and that organizational goals are consistently being met. You also stay up to date on employee safety guidelines and always make sure you are meeting or exceeding regulatory requirements.

You ensure that metrics are being achieved by implementing improvement plans and solutions as needed while also maximizing the food production process to drive efficiencies and reduce costs. By communicating with engineering and maintenance personnel, you make sure that all machines and equipment are up-to-date on safety and production standards. You implement new training, procedures, and policies according to timelines and help develop programs to facilitate cross-training of employees. QUALIFICATIONS FOR AN OPERATIONS MANAGER

  • Bachelor's degree OR a combination of education and relevant work experience
  • 5+ years of experience in a lead manufacturing role
  • Experience working in a food manufacturing environment
  • Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations, rates, ratios, and percentages as well as create and interpret information in a variety of formats, including graphs, trends, and data tables
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with contacts inside and outside of the company
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills to effectively and professionally interact with regulatory, state, and city officials
  • Strong computer skills including competence with Microsoft Suite

Certifications as a Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) are preferred. Experience using or having a working knowledge of the Safe Quality Food Program (SQF) would be a plus. Do you have strong verbal and written communications skills? WORK SCHEDULE FOR AN OPERATIONS MANAGER

This full-time food production role works a typical schedule of 8 AM - 5 PM, Monday through Friday.
