Working in an optical lab requires out of the box thinking, attention to fine details, and a passion for crafting magical devices with your own two hands. The art of making eyeglasses and having a hand in providing the gift of sight to a person is a very rewarding and fulfilling purpose. Whether you spend 15 hours a week on this craft or 40, the mission is the same. Whether you are looking for a change of pace, a new career path, or just something additional to do with your time, the amazing thing about this field is that it requires no previous experience. Skills are ever teachable. The only requirement is heart and curiosity.

The right person for this position will be taught how to use tools and equipment in our in-house eyeglass finishing lab. You will be learning how to make, assemble, repair, and adjust custom made eyewear. You will also be learning about the eyewear itself; the different materials they are made out of, the different parts used to create them, the different types of lenses and frames, and how they work to correct a person's vision. You will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and operation of the equipment as well as the level of lab supplies.

This position can be a part time gig or you can create and build a whole career path for yourself. Within the optical industry, many options and opportunities lie ahead!

Have optical experience already? Great! You will enjoy bypassing some of the basic training while learning our efficient processes and benefit greatly from working with and learning from our highly experienced and skillfully trained opticians!
