We are an established three-location ophthalmology and optometry practice in Palm Desert, La Quinta, and Yucca Valley. We are seeking a trainable and friendly individual with preferred 1-year experience as a lab tech and/or optician - we are willing to train the right candidate. This position will require working in both the Palm Desert and La Quinta offices. Rare (2-3 times a year) travel to the Yucca Valley location may also be required in cases of emergencies. While you will have a set major role, you will be cross-trained to fill in other office duties, as needed. We have weekly office meetings for re-alignments and staff suggestions to help keep our office running smoothly and help us provide the best customer service possible. The right candidate is someone who is personable, a hard worker who does not need micromanaging, uses good judgment, proficient at using a computer, and has impeccable attention to detail.

The position we are currently hiring for is:

Optician\Lab Tech:

• This person helps patients select the best eyewear for patients based on their personal style, their prescription, and their vision needs.
• Educate patients on their insurance benefits and the options available to them.
• Dispense and fit glasses.
• File vision claims and enters payments in the software.
• Collects correct amount for glasses and exams
• Checks-out medical visit patients, collecting correct copays, deductibles, and coinsurance and scheduling the follow up appointments
• General office duties including answering phones, inventory, check-in, check-out
• This person would also send glasses to the various labs, cut single vision lenses in house, follow-up on orders, and check and verify orders that come in from the different labs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
