Children's Dental Health Orthodontics currently has a full-time opportunity available for an Orthodontic Assistant who is able to travel between several of our PA practices, including but not limited to Warrington, Springfield, and two locations in Philadelphia on Allegheny Ave and Roosevelt Blvd!

Essential Functions:

• Must be able to work in a kid friendly environment
• Checks oral hygiene, providing oral hygiene instructions
• Knows and understands the difference between each orthodontic chairside procedure, performs the procedures with the correct techniques and accuracy, and completes each procedure in the time allotted
• Reviews all charts prior to bringing all patients into the back for treatment
• Properly sterilizes instruments on a regular basis
• Properly prepares for each orthodontic procedure
• Knows how to operate and utilize the practice management software
• Knows and understands how to properly take patient photos and correctly imports them into Dolphin in a timely manner (facial and intra-oral photos)
• Completes impressions/scans as needed
• Assists doctor with cementation of bands and bracket placement
• Removes and places wires, ties, power chains, etc.
• Properly takes the correct x-rays when needed on each patient
• Follows OSHA, Infection Control, and other standards for protection against blood borne pathogens.
• Prepares rooms/chairs for patient care
• Restocks supplies and tracks inventory

Requirements:

• At least one year of orthodontic assisting experience
• Warm, friendly, courteous, and enjoys working with children
• Punctual, responsible, and a fast learner
• Ability to multitask is critical
• Cleared through the State of PA to work on children: determined through Criminal Background Check, Finger Printing, and Child Abuse Clearance

Physical Requirements:

Standing, walking, climbing, balancing, bending, kneeling, crouching and sitting

• May be required to stay in a position for long periods of time
• Occasional lifting; moving up to 25 pounds.
• Manual dexterity
