DETAILS
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the supervision of the Associate Director of Care & Case Management or designee, in accordance with the standards of the social work profession and requirements of the funding source, responsible for:
- Create structured community outreach plans, including project goals and measurements
- Perform outreach throughout Manhattan, Queens, Bronx and Brooklyn
- Meet with relevant health care, medical and mental health staff and organizations, local clergy, community organizations and other community stakeholders to educate them about SCC
- Represents SCC at community conferences, meetings, fairs and outreach events
- Design and create marketing materials
- Develop quarterly newsletter for distribution to staff and clients
- Participates in interdisciplinary SCC trainings and meetings
- Works with team and community partners to plan monthly trainings to enhance quality of service delivery
- Supports SCC program Social Workers in Manhattan, Queens, Bronx and Brooklyn with clerical tasks as needed
- Conducts client satisfaction surveys on a semi-annual basis to be analyzed and used for funding sources
- Completes required case records, reports, and statistics, utilizing computers, if so required
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college, preferably in a related field including social work, psychology, counseling, gerontology, mental health or marketing
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively and concisely (both orally and in writing)
- Experience in public speaking preferred
- Must be computer literate, including the ability to learn and use program-specific software
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Desire to work collaboratively and thoughtfully as a part of a committed, interdisciplinary team
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to problem solve, prioritize work, work independently, and excel in a high-performance culture
- Ambitious, innovative and creative
- Strong commitment to JASA’s mission and values
- Ability to travel to Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan and the Bronx using mass transit
- An understanding and appreciation of the roles of race, religion, ethnicity, sexual preference, and individual values have as they relate to serving clients and families.
COMPENSATION:
Rate: $20.33 per hour
