Position Summary:

Identity Group – Cookeville Campus is a fast paced, ever changing environment delivering exciting sign projects to major hospitality and custom brand clients nationwide. The Painter is a key part of this service as he/she is responsible for applying coats of paint, varnish, primers, stain, enamel, clear coat and or lacquer to decorate and protect exterior/interior surfaces, trimmings, and fixtures of various structures.

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
▪ Performs repair work on acrylic signage (i.e., filing, grinding, sanding, filling holes, etc.).
▪ Operates a variety of hand and power tools (i.e., hammers, wrenches, sanders, spray guns, etc.).
▪ Prepares parts for painting by masking and taping.
▪ Prepares paint by blending and mixing.
▪ Applies primer and paints to surfaces using brush or top fed spray guns for the purpose of completing required work.
▪ Maintains a variety of records (i.e., maintenance reports, repair reports, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities and providing reliable information.
▪ Inspects and ensures that the paint booth is in a safe working condition.
▪ Requires close monitoring of the paint process. Work is reviewed at several steps along the way for accuracy.
▪ Makes sure all paint requirements are met with exact specifications with PSI and fan width of how to lay down paint.
▪ Able to check colors with various color management books.
▪ Performs other job functions as required by Manufacturing Supervisor.
▪ Demonstrates regular and consistent daily attendance at the Wichita Campus.
▪ Complies with Identity Group’s safety rules and policies.

Requirements:
▪ Operate tools and equipment according to established safety procedures.
▪ Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment and ensure that equipment is in safe operating condition.
▪ Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting, climbing, etc.
▪ Store, handle and dispose of paint, stain, varnish, and other chemicals according to established procedures.
▪ Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor immediately.

Physical Requirements:
▪ Regularly must be able to sit, talk, see, hear, walk and stand.
▪ Regularly must be able bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, push, pull, and reach.
▪ Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) for extended periods of time.
▪ Must be able to lift or carry minimum of 50 pounds.

Education and Experience:
▪ High school diploma or equivalent required.
▪ Two+ years in equivalent work environment required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
