• This position will report to the Park Manager on site at San Luis Pass County Park.
• Brazoria County Parks Department is growing and thriving in Southeast Texas, and features 10 recreational park sites, one historic site, more than 20 boat ramps, and 14 miles of public beach along the Gulf of Mexico. The region also boasts diverse wildlife and landscapes such as Columbia Bottomland forests, rivers, bays and estuaries, and a dedicated, professional team of employees.
• San Luis Pass County Park: San Luis Pass is a 15-acre park and campground set along a unique and dynamic natural inlet ecosystem on the Texas Gulf Coast. It features some of the best saltwater fishing found anywhere, as well as 69 full-hookup RV sites, cabins available for rent, a large picnic pavilion, boat ramp, and a park visitor center, office and store complex which also has displays and aquariums.
• Park Location: San Luis Pass County Park is located at the southeast corner boundary of Brazoria County, along County Road 257 adjacent to the Galveston Toll Bridge and directly on the water along the Gulf of Mexico and West Galveston Bay

Basic Job Description: The successful candidate for San Luis Pass Park Part-time (approximately 29 hours per week) Admin and Clerk will perform the following duties:

• General admin and receptionist duties such as answering the phone, greeting park visitors, record keeping, filing, office and supply management, taking campsite and cabin reservations and payments via phone, in person and using an on-line reservation software network; coordinating Park store merchandise sales and maintaining a clean, organized office environment.
• This position will also have fiscal responsibilities such as handling money for various park fees, Park store merchandise sales, etc., and accounting functions for inventory and deposits, etc.
• The candidate should be comfortable answering questions, working with suppliers for deliveries, etc., and juggling multiple tasks, so a friendly, professional attitude and demeanor are required, as are above-average organizational and communication skills. This person will also need to have/learn a basic knowledge Gulf of Mexico ecosystems and recreational saltwater sport fishing.
• This position will often communicate with other park admin staff from other park sites, and Parks Dept. HQ. Occasional travel to Park HQ in Angleton, and other county park locations may be required as well.
• Other duties may also be assigned by Parks Dept. senior staff.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements: Strong customer service and interpersonal skills are required and must be able to represent the department to both external and internal customers with a professional appearance and friendly demeanor.

• 
  Applicants should have moderate typing and computer skills / knowledge and familiarity with basic programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel and others, and knowledge of/ experience with email, and a willingness to learn specific reservations software, and detailed park policies and rules. Some experience with retail store sales, Web sites and social media are a plus.
• Applicants must be a minimum 18 years of age. High school diploma or G.E.D. required; previous admin, clerk, and/or office management experience preferred.
• Employee must be willing to work non-traditional schedule such as weekends, holidays, special events and evenings if needed, and comply with all Brazoria County policies such as a uniform dress code.
• Employee must provide transportation to San Luis Pass Park to report for daily work assignment.
• Parks Department uniforms (shirts) will be provided.

• Salary range: This position is a non-supervisory, regular part-time position, approximately 29 hours per week (no benefits package nor insurance offered), and is classified as a Grade 29 ($17.36 to 19.53 per hour), depending on qualifications and experience.
