*Follow menu created by head chef
*If ingredients aren’t available for a menu item, consult with head chef on appropriate substitution
*Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
*Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
*Prepare meals using various cooking methods
*Plate and serve all resident meals with the help of care-staff, ensuring they are served the proper portion size and at the proper temperature according to safety requirements
*Ensure the proper amount of food is prepared for current census
*Work with Head Chef to ensure a thorough understanding of special diets and how they are properly prepared
*Work with Head Chef to keep an updated inventory list and communicate when items need to be ordered
*Ensure all perishable and non-perishable food items are dated and properly rotated *Immediately clean up any spills or messes
*Maintain a clean kitchen area and keep dishes continually washed and sanitized
*Utilize daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning logs to ensure kitchen stays clean, sanitized, and orderly
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour
