We are seeking a part-time Nurse Practitioner to support our growing team. Schedule to start is on Friday's and Sunday's. The ideal candidate will have expertise in primary care, addiction, and pain management, and will be responsible for balancing patient care with other medical services associated with in-patient rehabilitation.
Responsibilities:
- Provide all medical services within reasonable and expected medical standards and in compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the applicable health licensing boards.
- Maintain timely, complete, accurate, and legible medical records for all patients evaluated and treated by the Nurse Practitioner.
- Maintain a licensure to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in good standing and maintain continuing education credits in accordance with all applicable State requirements, during the course of employment.
- Obtain complete and focused evaluations and physical/psychiatric exams within regulatory timeframes.
- Provide medication management, which may include psychotropic medication, at all levels of care.
- Order, obtain and assess appropriate laboratory tests and diagnostics.
- Identify current, potential, and historical health problems.
- Actively participate and recommend care/treatment in daily Flash and treatment team meetings.
- Attend mandatory supervisory meetings with physicians weekly or as deemed appropriate by the supervising physician or Medical Director.
- Authorized to sign documents on behalf of the supervising physician, attending physician, or another physician under the Medical Director’s supervision.
- May extend standing orders to accommodate the patient’s length of stay.
- Diagnose acute and chronic illnesses.
- Develop, initiate, and monitor treatment plans which may include pharmacological, non-pharmacological, and educational interventions, as well as follow-ups, consultations, and referrals.
- Provide wellness/health maintenance and physicals (medical only).
- Consult and refer to other healthcare providers.
- In the event a physician is not available in an emergency, the Nurse Practitioner shall take the appropriate measures within his/her scope of practice and make arrangements for the care of the patient(s).
- Report any concerns to immediate supervisor.
- Other duties as assigned.
Position Competencies:
- Ability to identify short-term and long-range patient care issues that must be addressed; provide information and commentary pertinent to deliberations; recommending options and courses of action; implement physician directives.
- Proficiency to assess patient health by interviewing patients; perform physical examinations; obtaining, update, and studying medical histories.
- Ability to determine abnormal conditions by administering or ordering diagnostic tests and interpreting test results.
- Ability to document patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
- Demonstrated ability to perform therapeutic procedures by administering injections and immunizations; suturing; managing wounds and infections.
- Demonstrate patient HIPAA confidentiality.
- Effective time management, punctuality and attendance are essential functions of this position.
