At Willamette View, we cook and bake from scratch. That's right, we're a retirement home community and we cook and bake everything from scratch.

We serve over 1,000 meals per day. Every. Single. Day. We have a wonderful staff of cooks who "bring it", day in and day out, to produce tasty meals and food in which we take great pride. We don't cut corners. We utilize classical techniques and outside the box thinking in meeting the demands of the menu while working under time constraints. Our food is recipe driven, created in our very own kitchens, in a collaborative process between the chefs and the cooks. Food that is borne out of the desire to excel, and push the limits of our kitchens, to ensure our residents reap the benefits.

This individual will be responsible to produce fresh, nourishing, tasty scratched baked products that meet our residents and catering needs and helps us to meet our objective to "Inspire the art of living well". Additional duties will include costing of recipes and assignment of retail price points, ordering of product and assisting with culinary demonstrations for residents and marketing events.

Qualifications: Must possess a high school diploma or GED, a minimum of one year experience in baking and pastry production. Associate's degree in Culinary Arts, a baking and pastry certificate, or a combination of education and experience is preferred. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language, must be sanitation certified under the State of Oregon Food Safety program and a food handlers card.
