Trinity Health Of New England is looking for an experienced Patient Transport Supervisor to join our team of mission-driven healthcare innovators at Saint Mary's Hospital. JOB SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Patient Transport Director, supervises activities in patient and some equipment transport. Assists with patient transportation needs throughout the main campus to ensure appropriate and timely patient movements as required via the use of the patient tracking system.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education : Associate’s degree required and Bachelor's degree preferred.

Experience : Minimum two years’ supervisory experience in an institutional healthcare or equivalent setting.

Licensure : None.

Skills : Ability to effectively plan, organize and manage a large group of employees and maintain discipline and morale. Proficient in computer software, excel word etc. Ability to work with a variety of internal and external clients and customers.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL EFFORT

Part time office environment with frequent amount of walking. Significant stress from managing several projects simultaneously. Days are often crisis oriented. Position requires ability to frequently lift objects or more than 100 pounds, perform moderately difficult manipulative, gross body and hand-eye coordination skills; walk, and stand for prolonged periods; see objects closely and hear normal sounds with some background noises. Position requires ability to constantly concentrate on fine detail with interruption and attend to tasks for more than 60 minutes at a time. Individual must be able to understand and relate to theories behind several related concepts and remember multiple tasks given over long periods of time.

ENVIRONMENTAL AND WORKING CONDITION S

Part-time office environment and part-time general hospital environment with considerable walking and standing.

  • Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality at all times according to the established Hospital procedures to ensure that the dignity and respect of the patient is maintained.

  • Attends all mandatory Hospital initiated training.

  • Supervises work flow of the Patient Transport Department to ensure completion of work assignments.

  • Assigns workload to department staff, prioritizing work and with consideration given to the skill of employees, as demonstrated by assignment being completed on time.

  • Assesses the number and level of personnel needed to provide quality service and adjusts staffing and assignments as needed.

  • Evaluates the quality of service through reports, observations, and patient surveys.

  • Contributes to the effective management of the department.

  • Participates actively in departmental and hospital councils, committees, and task forces relative to all Departments function.

  • Assists department in meeting goals and objectives which support the Patient and customer’s needs.
