No Certification Required. This Pharmacy is also not open to the Public. Hours of Operation are M-F 8am-8pm, Sa-Su 8am-4pm. Applicants must be able to meet this Availability, 40 hours per week.

FUNCTION OF POSITION:

The Pharmacy Technician position assists the pharmacist with the medication procurement process for pharmacy patients. This may include collecting all pertinent financial information and filling orders, under the supervision of the pharmacy supervisor and/or staff pharmacist in accordance with state and federal codes and regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensures availability of accurate pharmaceutical supplies to units by reading order, entering order data into computer, filling requisitions and delivering floor and narcotic stock orders.
• Assists with dispensing and control of narcotics by filling orders, recording narcotics dispensed, and performing an inventory of all narcotics dispensed that day.
• Answers phone, responds to routine questions, and notifies Pharmacist if needed.
• Counts, compounds and repackages pharmaceuticals using established procedures.
• Processes admissions, transfers, and discharge information by adjusting patient data in computer, entering charges, and retrieving sealed items back to inventory, if appropriate.
• Monitors supply levels, notifies appropriate staff if reorder is needed, rotates stock, and removes expired medications. Ensures main dispensing area and IV area are stocked adequately. Shelves new stock, making sure that the manufacturer's storage requirements are observed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned to support achievement of Pharmacy goals and objectives.

REQUIREMENTS:

· High school diploma or equivalent.

· Experience with various web browsers (Google Chrome / Firefox), Google Docs, Google Sheets or similar software

· Demonstrated ability to communicate

· Proven ability to manage multiple projects at a time while paying strict attention to detail

· Excellent listening skills

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
