As a member of the healthcare team here at Riverview Health, the Physical Therapist demonstrates active patient advocacy to ensure all rights are identified and met for every patient. The Physical Therapist encompasses all duties relating to providing exemplary patient care services at Riverview Health. Outstanding customer service skills and understanding of confidentiality and productivity are required by the Physical Therapist.

Physical Therapist Job Functions:

• Plan, organize and administer medically prescribed physical therapy program to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability for patients with injuries; muscle, nerve, joint and bone diseases; debilitation; and/or loss of ability to perform functional activities.
• Help patients reach their maximum performance and assume a place in society while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities.
• Review physician's prescription, patient's condition and medical records to determine physical therapy treatment required.
• Plan and prepare a written evaluation report and treatment program based on evaluation of patient data.
• Develop and update an appropriate plan of care in collaboration with the patient and family related to the patient's age and lifestyle with measurable long and short term goals and a defined discharge plan.
• Evaluate effects of treatment at various stages, adjust treatment to achieve maximum benefit, and prepare written progress reports.
• Evaluate the learning needs and capabilities of patients and family members, and initiate patient and family education in a timely manner relative to age, length of stay, readiness to learn, and emotional status.
• Establish provisions for continuing services and follow-up as needed.

Physical Therapist Job Requirements:

• Minimum: Bachelor of Physical Therapy, and current licensure in the State of Indiana
• Preferred: Masters or Doctorate of Physical Therapy and some clinical experience
• Other Requirements: CPR
