NORTHERN NEW MEXICO INTEGRATED SECURITY, LLC (N2MIS)
Northern New Mexico Integrated Security, located in beautiful northern New Mexico, provides a professional, highly trained protective force that safely secures special nuclear material, people and other critical assets for the Department of Energy, National Nuclear Security Administration and the Los Alamos National Laboratory.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Planning Specialist assists the Lead Planning Specialist in the coordination of security services to meet Department of Energy (DOE), National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) and Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) requirements. The Specialist performs liaison duties between LANL and the Protective Force. Additionally, the Planning Specialist assists in the development of Protective Force Security Orders, plans for the protection of special nuclear material, personnel and property, facility security and other action and operations plans.
COMPENSATION
$30.50 - $32.50 per hour; Non-Exempt, Full-time
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Education and Experience:
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Work is performed onsite. Position is not remote.
- S. or B.A. degree in a related field (security, engineering and analytical) and/or extensive experience in security through the armed forces, other government agency or contractor employment with special emphasis on threat analysis, risk management, asset protection and force development, emergency planning and data analysis.
- Minimum of two (2) years of Protective Force security experience with DOE armed security operations
- Currently have, or be able to obtain and maintain, a Department of Energy Q clearance
- Ability to obtain and maintain Human Reliability Program (HRP) certification.
- Currently have, or be able to obtain and maintain, Derivative Classifier Certification and all other access requirements
- Demonstrated tactical knowledge.
- Experience building strong working relationships among all levels of personnel.
- Technical writing experience, strong oral communication skills, and the ability to draft professional correspondence, prepare reports and coordinate the work of others.
- Ability to successfully complete site-specific training programs and maintain proficiency.
- Must possess an intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid NM driver’s license.
Desired Education and Experience (Considered a Plus):
- Demonstrated knowledge of security practices and LANL Safeguards and Security practices, policies, and procedures.
- Knowledge and understanding of Department of Energy orders, policies, procedures, and contractual requirements (e.g., 10 CFR 1046).
- Knowledge in document creation, design, and formatting.
- Experience working in a classified environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment and the ability to take direction.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Work is performed in an office setting and in the field in various conditions, including inclement weather. Physical demands of this position vary from situation to situation. Physical work demands are considered medium with lifting requirements up to 50 pounds. Must have visual acuity to make general observations of facilities, structures or personnel. May be subject to hazards including moving vehicles. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching and bending throughout the workday.
