The Plant Manager is responsible for all aspect of the Frankfort facility, including purchasing, production, warehouse, maintenance and engineering. He/she must direct plant staff to ensure the safe, manufacture and shipment of quality products in a timely manner and provide the necessary improvements to, and maintenance of, facilities and equipment. The Plant Manager is responsible for the environmental integrity of the facility, as well as the health and safety of the employees. He/she must ensure the facility adheres to the applicable codes of Responsible Care®. The Plant Manager is responsible for personnel issues and labour relations for the plant staff.
The Plant Manager must develop (with input from the VP of Manufacturing) strategic objectives to deliver on business needs. Annual goals and objectives are developed to focus his/her staff in achieving the business strategy. Annual operating budgets must be created and submitted to the VP of Manufacturing and managed for all activities in the plant.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Maintain a safe, working environment striving for Zero accidents. Develop and implement strategic safety initiatives. Develop awareness of unsafe behaviors and implement risk-based management of safety objectives.

  • Maintain compliance to external stakeholders and regulatory agencies across operations.

  • Responsible for environmental integrity of the site and dealings with regulatory bodies.

  • Ensure that the plant operates in a safe manner, that all work is performed using safe work practices and that the work abides by ISO and Responsible Care® Codes of Practice.

  • Effectively manage operations to achieve the production plan and to identify and achieve performance improvements. Motivate, guide, support, and coach employees to achieve strategic objectives.

  • Provide/recommend the necessary equipment to produce products in the most cost-effective manner.

  • Responsible for all modifications and maintenance of building and equipment.

  • Develop budgets and manage the cost structure to maintain a minimum variance against the financial plan.

  • Develop strategic objectives for the factory team that will drive OMP deliverables throughout the year. Guide the development of personal goals for each staff member as they contribute to achieving the business objectives.

  • Oversee materials management and supply chain, including Purchasing, Shipping, Receiving and inventory control.

  • Responsible for the preparation and implementation of Tier III Manufacturing Manuals as required.

  • Responsible for training of manufacturing personnel.

  • Administer personnel policies consistent with company objectives.

  • Serve as a contributing member to the Plant Quality Board.

  • Serve as a member of the JHSC.

  • Collaborate with the VP of Manufacturing to develop long term goals for the Frankfort facility.

  • Responsible for labor relations.

  • Shall ensure that all functions fulfilled or supervised are carried out in accordance with the requirements of the Responsible Care® codes.

  • Conducts performance reviews for direct reports.

  • All quality requirements as outlines in Tier I & Tier II.

  • Other duties as required.



Qualifications/Skills/Experience Required :

  • BS in Engineering from a four-year accredited university.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in engineering and/or plant management in addition to engineering degree.

  • Possesses good interpersonal/communication skills; Read, Write, Speak English.

  • Good time management and delegation abilities.

  • Creative problem-solving skills.

  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

  • History of strong negotiating tactics.

  • Independent decision making.

  • Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations.

  • Goal setting and budget creation experience.

  • Team player with the ability to achieve consensus among co-workers and staff.
