About this Position:
TEST Technical Expert II provides technical know-how and insight to lead spec development in assigned area from concept to production.
Responsibilities include:
- Oversee project leaders to develop performance targets through competitive analysis and application of engineering principles with minimal supervision. Lead the collection of new data to optimize cost & performance competitiveness.
- Advise design groups to advance complex component and system layouts that achieve performance targets, function requirements, and manufacturing requisites with minimal supervision. Propose design solutions based on experience, market knowledge and data analysis. Leverage existing methods and develop new methods to give virtual outlook for prototype designs. Develop best practices for virtual testing. Leverage understanding of cross-functional requirements to ensure smooth development process.
- Verify and approve function group documentation prior to reporting at technical evaluations. Maintain accurate technical, development, and administrative documentation as required. Collaborate with development leadership to improve formats, and fill-in guides.
- Break down work and delegate appropriately for efficiency and associate growth. Coordinate group work schedules, monitor and report progress. Ensure future readiness by assessing and developing function group skill level.
- Prioritize, lead, and address market quality themes. Utilize problem-solving methods to analyze root causes. Develop and implement countermeasures with minimal supervision. Lead collection of new data as needed to validate countermeasures. Lead recurrence prevention initiatives and integrate countermeasures into development processes.
Required Work Experience:
- 12 years previous engineering experience, preferably in Power Sports industry
Required Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
Desired skills:
- Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of principles, practices required to
- complete difficult technical problems and projects
- Competent in FTA, FMEA
- Competent analytical, problem solving, judgement, decision-making and
- prioritization
- Competent data acquisition and laboratory skills
- Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills, including written and
- oral
- Competent understanding of development project cycles, milestones
