T he Learning Experience-Ashburn is hiring for a Food Service Chef/Cook! This position is a full-time position. Need to be able to drive 14 passenger TLE vehicle to transport children to and from elementary school.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be 18 years of age and High School Graduate/GED holder.
• Must have reliable transportation to work.
• Maintains Food Handler's, CPR, and First Aid Certification required by state or local regulations. Food Manager Preferred.
• No need to have prior food service or commercial kitchen experience- get paid to train!
• Must have a satisfactory background check from the Virginia Department of Social Services, Child

Protective Services.

• Clear Fingerprint record from FBI and Virginia State Police
• Must have a clean driving record and able to drive TLE Vehicle and transport children to and from Elementary school.

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the planning and preparation of snacks and meals; orders and inventories of all kitchen items. Ensures all health and safety standards are met. Accepts temporary assignments within the academy which may include briefly stepping into classrooms or assisting teachers.

• Plan and prepare snacks and meals in accordance with posted menus and nutrition regulations.
• Determines meal and snack count and distributes food to each classroom.
• Removes dishes and leftovers from classrooms and disposes accordingly.
• Performs weekly food and supply inventory; submits list of needed items to director.
• Orders food and supply items from approved supplier, within budget set by director.

Checks-in supply deliveries to ensure accuracy of order placed.

• Keeps kitchen, including appliances, cabinets and all inventory, organized and clean.
• Attends and participates in staff meetings, training sessions, and academy events as requested.
