JOB SUMMARY

The Pricing Specialist plays a critical role within the Retail Pricing department. This position is located at the Associated Food Stores Corporate Office located in Salt Lake City, Utah.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Consult and advise retailers regarding pricing issues, gross margins, and options as they relate to pricing.
• Assist in defining price structure for retail stores.
• Research, develop, and maintain price zones.
• Other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelors degree preferred.
• 1 - 2 years of work experience in retail grocery store (Grocery or GM Department Manager, Receiving, or Scanning preferred). Broad knowledge of center store and fresh department products and processes preferred.
• Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Must have a strong working knowledge of profit and loss statements.
• Must be able to demonstrate good math and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and people skills are required in order to build relationships with retail members.
• Some travel required.

PHYSICAL/SENSORY DEMANDS

Work is performed in a typical office environment. Job consists of working on a computer and would therefore require prolonged sitting and repetitive motion involved with keyboard and mouse. Also, prolonged exposure to computer screens and indoor lighting.
