Role and Responsibilities

Our Pro Shop Assistant is often a customer facing position that prioritize the members needs over all else. Our Pro Shop Assistant helps in the day to day operation of the Pro Shop itself including but not limited to stocking/restocking items, regripping golf clubs, redoing golf shoe spikes, sale of pro shop items, collection of fees, customer service, administrative work, assigning tee times, and servicing the bag storage area. The Pro Shop Assistant records all play on the course, records guests for accurate bookkeeping, and holds knowledge on all the items in the pro shop for sale.

1. Pro Shop Sales – Golf Merchandise & Equipment

2. Member Services – Bag Storage, Member Charging, Tee Time Creation, Club repair & regripping, score posting, minor club fitting

3. Collection of Fees – Cart Fees, Guest Fees, Tournament Fees, Membership Fees when applicable

4. Tournament Role – Scoring, Tournament Prep, Tournament operation & organization

5. Day to Day Operations – Maintain a clean work environment, empty trash cans, clean member clubs, maintain a professional working environment, marshalling of club rules, monitoring and sometimes enforcing pace of play

6. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Graduation from high school or GED equivalent

One to two years of experience in performing administrative/office support in a customer service/ golf shop environment

Preferred Skills

Knowledge of fundamentals of the game of golf; Rules, regulations, player responsibilities, sportsmanship, etiquette and traditions of the game of golf; Considerable knowledge of golf related equipment, apparel and accessories; Recordkeeping practices and procedures; Cash handling procedures; Basic knowledge of mathematics; Standard office practices and procedures; English spelling, grammar, and punctuation; File management and storage using good organization practices; Cash handling processes; Basic knowledge of computers and information systems.

Additional Notes

This position is a very social role. You will interact with most of our members and should be comfortable speaking to them. Communication plays a pivotal role in golf operations, salesmanship and club involvement are both crucial aspects of this job.
