Payroll Accounting Lead

Summary

The Payroll Accounting Lead administers the payroll function for Summit Distributing under the guidance of the Finance Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Processes two weekly and one semi-monthly employee payrolls. Process manual checks when needed.
• Ensures new hires and terminations are setup correctly.
• Files required documents and reports according to state and federal payroll guidelines (i.e. W-2s, garnishments, etc.)
• Responds to payroll questions and concerns of employees, researching records and involving other resources/staff as needed.
• Provides account reconciliations with General Ledger balances and Workmans Comp.
• Keeps current with HR payroll policies and public policy changes affecting payroll rules and guidelines; provides input to policies and procedures for payroll processing.
• Coordinates with HR Manager regarding payroll related administration requirements andindividual employee payroll needs.
• Performs other duties as requested.

Knowledge and Skill

• High school diploma or G.E.D. with a minimum of three years of experience with processing payroll in-house;
• Associates degree in Accounting or Finance desired
• Experience with in-house payroll
• Intermediate Excel skills
• Basic accounting skills
• Demonstrated attention to detail

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

• Expected Annual Pay (Hourly Position): $41,600 - $45,760
