Western National is seeking a Product Development Analyst to join our team!
The individual filling this role will be self-starter and an expert in their assigned property and casualty insurance product lines. The Product Development Analyst will work collaboratively with other departments and company leadership to ensure products meet corporate objectives.
This role:
- Monitors resources for legislative and regulatory changes and analyze impacts to Western National products
- Partners with Product Manager for assigned business lines to implement coverage and product changes needed for competitive advantage.
- Assists in identifying new Product opportunities which may require policy and form language changes.
- Implements rate, rule, and form changes to comply with statutory and company requirements.
- Ensures filings and approvals of insurance products are compliant with regulatory requirements.
- Gains expertise in ISO product structure and Guidewire Standard Based Templates and take a prominent role in set up and maintenance of the product structure for assigned business lines within the policy administration system.
- Understands rating components and process for assigned lines of business and collaborate with actuaries and rating specialists in the rate making and implementation process.
- Assists in leading and facilitating the collaboration efforts with other departments.
- Serves as subject matter expert in assigned business lines.
- Monitors industry publications and news to ensure product provides value.
- Plays key role in identifying coverage structure and recommending modifications to ensure the future success of the Company.
What is a must have?
- Previous property and casualty insurance experience is strongly preferred.
- Detailed understanding of coverage and structure of property and casualty insurance products in personal and/or commercial lines.
- Demonstrated ability to guide others at all levels on key decisions and direction.
- Proven ability to facilitate a collaborative and productive environment across an organization.
- Intermediate experience in MS Excel and MS Word.
- Working knowledge of regulatory requirements.
What will our ideal candidate have?
- Experience with System for Electronic Rate and Form filing (SERFF) and bureau websites is preferred.
- 4-year degree or equivalent work experience in relevant field preferred.
- Insurance certifications (CPCU) are preferred.
- Previous experience with Insurance Compliance is a nice to have.
Compensation overview
The full hiring range for this role is $55,300-$83,000. However, the base pay offered may vary depending on the job-related knowledge, skills, credentials, and experience of each candidate as well as other factors such as the scope and location of the role. Candidates looking for compensation outside of the posted range are encouraged to apply and will be considered based on their individual qualifications and/or may be considered for other positions.
