We are seeking a Product Owner (Remote) to join our growing team!
Responsibilities & Qualifications:

Position Summary

Community Brands is seeking a Product Owner to help define the epics and stories needed to deliver value with our MIP Fund Accounting platform. As the Product Owner, you will partner with internal and external stakeholders to drive strategic objectives. In this role you will take ideas, candidates, and requirements and break them down into story tickets. The Product Owner will be an integral part of the product team, deeply embedded into the product SDLC, working collaboratively across functions. This role requires strong qualitative skills, strategic thinking, sound business judgement, along with the ability to think creatively and work independently.


A Day in the Life

  • Conducts research and develops a good understanding of the customer's needs, new technologies, trends in the market, and competitors.
  • Collaborates with the Business, Development and Program team to understand the Product vision and roadmap.
  • Assesses value, develops business cases, and prioritizes stories, epics and themes to ensure work focuses on maximum value that is aligned with the Product vision.
  • Develops requirements documents, functional specifications, and mock-ups to clearly illustrate product ideas and concepts.
  • Collaborates with peers on Program team to continually mature the backlog, with a focus on business value.
  • Provides an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of Sprint/Release goals.
  • Partners with Product Manager to drive strategic objectives. Take ideas, candidates, and requirements and breaks them down into story tickets.
  • Supports Product Manager in key Program projects, discovery activities, and cross-portfolio initiatives.
  • Acts as a strong support to Business, Development, Sales, Support and Service managers through effective problem solving, collaboration, and communication strategies.
  • Participates in all phases of the product development lifecycle, including analysis, design, testing, and integration of products, as well as the introduction of products to the market.
  • Member of a cross-functional team that translates customer needs and technology directions into product definitions.
  • May participate in the creation of documentation or user guides for new products.

We are looking for someone who brings

  • Experience:
    • Requires 2-4 years of related experience
    • Bachelor’s degree or Product Owner certifications strongly preferred
  • Computer/Technical:
    • Proficient in Office 365 - Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
    • Demonstrate ability to learn and understand basic office software applications
  • Other Skills:
    • Excellent verbal and written communication, organization and follow up skills
    • Excellent relationship building skills and the ability to work both individually and as a member of a team are necessary
    • Proven ability to handle multiple tasks with minimal supervision
    • Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
    • Strong problem solving and analytical skills with keen ability to deal with detailed, and sometimes ambiguous, information
