POSITION SUMMARY
The Midcon Production Engineer supports the Midcon/South Texas Business Unit (MSBU) in business planning, well performance monitoring, and opportunity analysis associated with managing the performance and growth of assets in Oklahoma through continuous improvement and performing both routine and creative thinking production projects. Works under general supervision.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Supports the operation and maintenance of onshore oil and gas wells and facilities to produce the highest margin volumes of oil and gas
  • Assist in the monitoring of operating expenses to identify and control high cost areas to maintain lifting cost at the lowest possible level.
  • Aid in the preparation of annual volume and expense budgets
  • Monitor well tests and production volumes to maintain and improve production and develop behind pipe reserves
  • Ensure that field operations are being conducted in compliance with all applicable state/province and federal laws and regulations
  • Interact daily with Devon field personnel, service companies, landowners and regulatory agency personnel
  • Assist in the preparation of authorizations for expenditures and procedures for artificial lift on new well completions as well as remedial well work
  • Develop skills and knowledge in production through continuous improvement and use of advance analytics.

PREREQUISITES
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Oil and gas industry experience preferred
  • Gas Lift, Plunger Lift and Compression Experience Preferred
  • Practice safe work habits at all times
  • Demonstrate commitment to Devon Attributes
  • Knowledge in state/province and federal regulatory laws and regulations
  • Strong transparent verbal and written communication skills
  • Creative individual, capable of analyzing and solving problems using code & analytics tools (Advanced VBA, PowerQuery, PowerPivot, Python, PowerBI, Spotfire, etc.)
  • Able to work independently
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to effectively work within a multi-disciplinary team to achieve project related goals
  • Efficient time management and the ability to concurrently handle multiple projects
  • Intermediate to advanced level computer skills preferred
  • Able to travel as required
  • Able to work extended hours
