Essential Function and Purpose
Coordinates, facilitates and leads to analyze, design, estimate, plan and implement Production Liaison Engineering projects. Develops and manages routine, complex and special projects. Ensures products developed by department personnel support department policy. Monitors adequacy of training programs. Develops and maintains performance standards. Facilitate Engineering Lessons Learned for incorporation. Responsible for multiple discipline activities with a primary focus on Marine Paint and Corrosion Control.

Position Demands
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent), or extensive relative experience in shipbuilding and marine coatings. Communication skills are essential.

Knowledge of: Shipbuilding processes of design and production of shipbuilding Manufacturing standards and practices Data and schedule analysis techniques U.S. Navy Military Specifications ABS and USCG regulatory requirements NASSCO Lessons Learned procedure preferred NASSCO Safety policy preferred Marine Paint and Corrosion Control
Skills in: Communication orally, including effective participation in discussions and meetings Communication in writing, including ability to produce material consisting of complex data, rationale, conclusions and Lessons Learned Development of plans and schedule Correction and resolution of technical conflicts between Engineering, Materials, Planning and Production Project management Use of computer-based tools to generate reports, charts, schedules and graphs Interpersonal working relationships, with emphasis on operation and teamwork Can recognize the effects of group dynamics and apply techniques to achieve team objectives Requires ability to physically commute to various areas of the shipyard including but not limited to shipboard activities. Must be capable of climbing ladders and transiting through manholes and other confined, congested spaces. Physical dexterity must allow for bending and reaching. Must remain mental alertness and all safety requirements, particularly when transiting in production areas. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is occasionally exposed to dust, welding/burning fumes, and smoke. Must be able to spend up to 50% of time in an outdoor shipyard environment in all climates. The noise level is relatively low to moderate in office environments and moderate to noisy in production environments 70% of time. Production noise may include sirens, horns, chipping, and hammering.

Working Relationships Reports to Supervisor, Production Liaison Engineering Works closely with all departments within Engineering Will work directly with all project stakeholders, including customers, regulatory bodies, Program Management Office, Engineering, Production, Ship’s Management, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain Management, Cost Estimating, and other disciplines as required

PAYSCALE: $74,800- $113,100
This pay range is a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role. It takes into account the wide range of factors considered in making compensation decisions; including but not limited to skill sets, experience, training, and education.
